Horizon Academy, Nashik, was accredited with the British Council International School Award for the period 2013-2016.
The International School Awards (ISA) is a global platform that provides recognition to teachers and their schools, working to instill a global dimension into the learning experience of every child. It is an accreditation scheme run by the British Council.
Under this scheme, eight main activities were carried out in the school, with twenty-five sub activities. The activities were allotted class wise, right from Nursery to Class X. These activities covered a range of subjects and involved all teachers and students.
Some of the activities that were carried out under this scheme included, Class Assemblies conducted by various classes throughout the year. Each class was allocated a different country and asked to present various aspects of current events, art, culture and lifestyle of the country. Exhibitions, debates, group discussions, competitions, all with an international dimension, were also organized along with a Food Festival and a mock SAARC activity.
One of the activities was a school to school link with a school in the U.S. (Menlo Park School in New Jersey). The school students exchanged e-mails with the U.S. students and shared information.
