Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations

Sad demise of the Late Mr. Niel O’Brien, erstwhile Chairman of CISCE

The late Mr. Neil O’Brien had been the Chairman of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, an All India Examination body, which conducts the ICSE and ISC Examinations from December 1993 till July 2011. Mr. O’Brien’s sad demise has left a void in the entire educational community.

His wide ranging interest in education played a role in the development of schools affiliated to the Council and helped in the expansion of education in our country. Under his chairmanship, the Council pioneered a number of academic initiatives, which established the Council as an exemplary National Examination Board. The foresight & vision of Mr. O’Brien played a pivotal role in placing the Council at the high level at which it is today.

Mr. O’Brien will be deeply missed by the Council fraternity. The Chairman Dr. G. Immanuel, the Executive Committee, members of the Council and the Council staff join me in conveying our condolences to the bereaved family.  May his soul rest in peace.
